Open letter to the Weightlifting Community

To whom it may concern,

You may have heard of the recent news that Cougars Weightlifting Club will be forced to relocate. Our relocation is due to our current venue at the Sleeman Sports Complex being demolished and rebuilt for the 2032 Olympics.

We as a club are saddened by this news. However, we have come to terms and despite the rich history we have at our current home we are now in search of a new home.

The committee has been working hard in trying to maintain a similar partnership within a state-run venue. Unfortunately, the reality is now becoming more and more likely that we will have to find a commercial premises prior to June 2024.

This letter is a call for assistance to our current members, past members, those associated with weightlifting or anyone in general that may be able to assist us in finding a new premises.

We are looking for a space that meets the following basic criteria:

 – 250m2 to 450m2 space

 – Minimum roof height of 2.8 metres

 – Slab on ground concrete floor

If you know of a suitable location that is available or if you believe that you can help us out in any way with our search please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Thank you,

Cougars Weightlifting Club President

James Norman
