National U15 & Youth Championships Wrap-up

A week has now passed since the end of the U15 & Youth Championships, and I am very much starting to miss the incredible environment that our Queensland Team created.

I would like to thank you again all athletes, parents, chaperones, team, and personal coaches for your support and understanding across the course of the weekend.

Now a quick wrap of our weekend!

The lifting was fantastic. With many PBs, and medals accumulated, our QLD team did us incredibly proud.

Team Shields

Personal Bests & Records

Although we did not break any records, QLD fought their hearts out to win all 4 Team trophies! And with a list of PB’s too long to sort through, our team put the effort in and should be proud of their efforts.

Special mention goes to the following 5 athletes who although did not medal still gave it their best and collected points towards the Teams total!

Caitlin Van Waveren – 4th Place

Callum Anderson – 4th Place

Charlotte Goodwin – 5th Place

Amalachi Smith – 5th Place

Lily Hayes – 4th Place

It was fantastic lifting by every one involved. The athletes themselves were amazing to work with both in a professional and personal manner.

Additionally, the coaching staff worked extremely well together over the course of the weekend and leading up to it. It was fantastic to have our Coaching Team of Greg Hobl, Miles Wydall, Woogie Marsh and Leanne Knox on board helping not only the team of athletes, but also our personal coaches Jackson Solofa, Lyatte Peach and Scott Robinson and their athletes throughout the weekend. Their teamwork, enthusiasm and support for all athletes and staff never went unnoticed! 🤗

Lastly, I would like to say a huge thank you to Fraser Harrison. Coming onto the team this year as our Wellbeing Officer has given us an edge, not only in our competition preparation, but also in our athlete’s livelihoods as they prepare for wherever their athletic path might take them. The support you provide is top notch, and the work you have done and continue to do is truly appreciated. 🙏

What a brilliant weekend. Thank you again to all.

Take care ✌
