You will find the information you need here: AGM Notice 2026 – Queensland Weightlifting At this AGM we are hoping to achieve gender balance, and would love to receive nominations from people with knowledge in the particular areas of Fundraising, Marketing and Digital Development.

National U15 & Youth prospective athletes: it is now time to finalise your uniform requirements for the National Championships in Melbourne. You will need a minimum of a QWA Representative lifting suit, and a QWA t-shirt. T-shirt sizes aren’t likely to be restocked before the event so please get in and order from the QWA Shop now: https://qwashop.org/collections/all If you can’t find your size of lifting suit in the shop you will need to pre-order this item by THURSDAY 4TH JUNE BY EMAILING THE QWA AT qwa@qwa.org to ensure that you have this item ready.

The QWA community is now eagerly awaiting the announcement of the Weightlifting team for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. We are hopeful that we will see a number of Queenslanders make the cut!!!

A reminder that Coaching Staff at this event must have a current AWF Coaching qualification, or organise for someone else with a current accreditation to directly supervise them in the competition field-of-play area (warm-up and platform area).

All personnel need current Blue Cards for the above event. If you don’t have one yet you can apply for one here: Apply for a blue card or exemption card | Your rights, crime and the law | Queensland Government when you register to apply for a Blue Card you will be given a Blue Card account number to email through to qwa@qwa.org so that your application as a volunteer can be endorsed, and no fee will be payable.

It was with sadness that the QWA heard of the passing of Rick Worreshk this week. Rick was a founding member of Carina Weightlifting Club in the 80’s, then moving on to form the first weightlifting club for Ipswich. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.
