State U12/U15 & Youth Championships

It has been wonderful to receive so much interest, so quickly, in volunteering for the upcoming State U12/U15 & Youth Championships at Rebels Weightlifting Club, Capalaba 19-20 July. We still need loaders though! Other competition news

The upcoming Southside Weightlifting Club event on the 30th August will be partnering with a local CrossFit in their area to hold their event in a bigger space than what is available at their club. Competition venue will be at 4/2 Stone Court, Kingston QLD 4114. Enter now via Queensland Weightlifting

QWA Shop News

We are expecting upcoming difficulties in procuring new uniform items for the QWA Shop. Ensure you are all kitted out by going to the QWA Shop now at Queensland Weightlifting to purchase your uniform requirements for upcoming National Championship participation.

QWA Qualifying standards update:

To accommodate the inclusion of a 94kg class and removal of the 98kg class please find the updated qualification information for male lifters below.

It will be permissable for anyone who competed as a 98 and achieved the qualifier within the time period to elect a weight class regardless of if they have competed in the changed classes. 

As the Youth Championships entries have already been finalised there is no need for a Youth standard for 94 and 94+kg categories.

Updated information regarding records for the 94kg category will be distributed when it becomes available.

🏋️‍♀️ 2025 Pacific Mini Games Wrap-Up – Queensland Athletes Shine! 🌴

Queensland weightlifters made their mark at the 2025 Pacific Mini Games in Palau, bringing home medals and showcasing the strength of Australian talent on the international stage! 💥

🥇 Nya Hayman (69kg) dominated her category with a 93kg Snatch116kg Clean & Jerk, and a 209kg Total, earning a GOLD medal and standing tall atop the podium!

🥉 Olivia Shelton (77kg) lifted a strong 97kg Snatch123kg Clean & Jerk, and a 220kg Total, claiming a well-deserved BRONZE medal in a tightly contested field.

Congratulations to Nya and Olivia on their incredible performances! Your hard work and dedication continue to inspire the next generation of Aussie lifters💪
