Team Members Code Of Behaviour

 

1. AS A TEAM MEMBER

  • Compete by the competition conditions and rules.
  • Never argue with the Referees or Competition officials.
  • Control your temper – offer no undue criticism by word or gesture.
  • Work equally hard for yourself and your team - your team's performance will benefit and so will your own.
  • Keeping of late hours will detract from your own and your team's performance.
  • Be a good sport. Encourage and support your own team members.
  • Co-operate with your Coach/Manager and team mates.
  • Show respect for your opponents and their particular skills.
  • Be friendly to all participants.
  • Smoking is banned in proximity to other team members.
  • Drinking of alcoholic beverages for under 18 year olds is strictly forbidden.
  • The taking of non-prescribed drugs is strictly forbidden.
  • Entering licensed premises unless under the supervision of team officials is strictly forbidden

 

 

2. AS A GUEST IN A HOUSEHOLD

  • Make your own bed, help wash your own clothes, help with household chores.
  • Be courteous.
  • Advise your host when and where you will be.
  • Social activities other than those organised or approved by team officials or hosts are not permitted.
  • Pay for phone calls - don't borrow money.
  • If delayed unexpectedly, contact your hosts immediately.
  • Respect the wishes and routine of your host family.
  • Be responsible - you are representing your family, your Club, your State.
  • Bring a small gift for your host family or write a letter of thanks.
  • Say THANK YOU - often!

 

 

3. AS A GUEST IN A HOTEL/MOTEL

  • Respect the RIGHTS AND PROPERTY of others.
  • Act responsibly at all times.
  • Display GOOD MANNERS at all times.

 

 

ANY BREACH OF THIS CODE OF BEHAVIOUR BY ANY TEAM MEMBER IN THE OPINION OF TEAM OFFICIALS WILL RESULT IN THAT ATHLETE BEING REPRIMANDED, AND MAY LEAD TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION BEING TAKEN BY THE QWA Inc MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.

 

 TEAM MEMBER’S DECLARATION

As a selected member of the sporting team representing the Queensland Weightlifting Association Inc I hereby accept the position nominated in the notice of selection and declare that whilst acting as a member of said team, including time spent in transit to and from the place of competition, I will:

  • Obey all lawful and reasonable directions of the team official/s appointed by the Queensland Weightlifting Association Inc.
  • Obey all lawful and reasonable directions of competition officials appointed by the Australian Weightlifting Federation Inc.
  • Obey all rules applicable to the place of team accommodation and respect and show due care for the property of others
  • Show due care and consideration for fellow team members, team officials, competition officials and members of the general public
  • Not smoke if under the age of 18 years
  • Not smoke within the confines of the designated team accommodation whether legally entitled to do so or not
  • Not partake of alcoholic beverages if under the age of 18 years
  • Not partake of alcoholic beverages within the confines of the designated team accommodation whether legally entitled to do so or not
  • Conduct myself in a manner which does not bring the Queensland Weightlifting Association into disrepute
  • Accept full responsibility for any charge, claim, injury, damage or liability arising from, or caused by, or associated with, a breach of this code in part or in it’s entirety, by me

PARENTAL CONSENT FORM

 

I hereby give permission for .................................................. to participate in any competition arranged by or participated in by the QWA Inc; and I hereby give my permission for him/her to use such forms of transport, including air transport, for travelling as may be deemed necessary.

 

I agree that, during the period/s of the aforesaid competitions in which my son daughter participates, and during such travelling and other activities as may be deemed necessary, my son/daughter shall be under the sole direction of the person or persons appointed in charge of the squad/s and or team/s in which he/she is included.

 

I agree to meet the costs associated with participation in the above mentioned competitions. I also agree to meet additional costs for any illness, injury, sickness, accident or unforseen circumstances which may occur during the periods of the activities in which my son/daughter participates and during such travelling and other activities as may be deemed necessary.

 

I have read the Team Member's Code of Behaviour, understand its contents and conditions, and accept the parental responsibilities contained therein.
