Records Tumble At The Qld Schools Championships

Seventeen Queensland Records were broken on Saturday at the Queensland All Schools Championships and more than half of the young competitors achieved new Personal Best results. This year, the Championships were held at the Cougars Weightlifting Club, in Brisbane's Sleeman Sports Complex.

Robin Parr from Wynnum State High School was the Best Female Lifter overall.

The Best Lifter in the Under 15 women’s competition was Madeline Wu, from Sheldon College.

In the men's competition, Rochedale State High School's James Norman was the Best Lifter

And Alex Bax from Iona College was the Best Under 15 Male.

There were some great battles for the Championship medals, particularly in the heavier men’s categories; and St Laurence’s College took out the Team competition.

Yolanta and Julian Wojcieszuk were on hand to present the Roman Wojcieszuk Memorial Team Shield to the boys from St Laurence’s College.
