New Rules & Regulations
The New Year is well and truly underway and a number of changes to the Technical Rules of Weightlifting are now in affect.  It’s important for all Technical Officials, Coaches and Athletes to keep up to date with rule changes and new regulations. Referee Training
The QWA recently conducted a Club Referee course at the Gold Coast Weightlifting Club; and courses are planned for the Crossfit Foxes/Fernwood Weightlifting Club; and the Death Alley Barbell Club in the coming week.  Other clubs have also expressed an interest in Referee training and additional courses will be rolled out as the year progresses.

If you are interested in becoming a Weightlifting Referee, or would just like to learn more about the rules and regulations of the sport, talk to your Club coordinators about putting in a request for the QWA to run a Referee Course at your Club.

New Weightlifting Shoes Are In
A new shipment of weightlifting shoes has arrived at the QWA Office.  All sizes are now available again.  Click HERE  to order online, or drop in to the office to try a pair on and buy over the counter. The shoes are still priced at $100.

QWA League & QWA Masters League
The flood of entries for Round 1 of the QWA League & Masters League caught us a little by surprise.  With the expectation that competitor numbers will be relatively high for the subsequent three rounds of the League competition, the QWA Management Committee has determined to schedule the remaining Rounds across two days.  Lifters in Divisions 1 & 4 will compete on Day 1 (Saturday) and Divisions 2 & 3 will compete on Day 2 (Sunday).  More information about Round 2 of the QWA League & Masters League will be released shortly.

Click HERE to see which Division you are in for 2013.  All new lifters are classified in Division 4 in their first year.
