How and Why Did You Start Weightlifting?
I initially started weightlifting for strength training to help my throwing (discus, hammer, shot - put). I (my coach, Brad) contacted QWA & Cougars and went on from there.

Best Moment In The Sport?
The Olympics was great but Melbourne's crowd and my gold medal performance really topped everything off!! Best moment so far for sure.

Worst Moment In The Sport?
the Olympic Trials in Melbourne.

Person You Most Admire in Weightlifting?
My coach Mike and training partner Amanda Phylice for their dedication and what they have achieved in the sport. I admire the younger lifters coming through who have a great attitude to lifting where they give it everything.
I really appreciate and admire all the coaches and officials who generously give of their time for the lifters in the club.


Favourite Exercise?
Fav - squats and pulls - don't need to think about it, just do them.

Least Favourite Exercise?
undecided as I enjoy them all at the moment

Favourite Venue To Compete?
The venue at Greece was pretty good, but nothing beats good old Chandler.

How many hours do you train per week?
Lead up to Athens Olympics about 25hrs

Brothers/Sisters, How Many?

I have 2 older brothers - 26, 24
and 2 younger sisters - 16, 20 Yes I have MCS. Middle child syndrome.

Single/Married?
Engaged to be Married in December

Favourite Music?
Fav. music ranges from Offspring n Alanis Morrisette, to Shaggy n Destiny's Child.

Favourite Movie?
Mr&Mrs Smith, Tomb Raider, Bad Boys, Chariots of Fire

Favourite Food?
Fav. food is definitely steak, any meat actually.

Favourite Book?
Fav. book apart from my trusty bible, is Couplehood and Babyhood by Paul Reiser - the best read ever. He is so funny.

Do You Compete In Other Sports?
Bronze Medal at Inaugural World Youth Champ in 1999 in discus. Recently competed at National Track Cycling Champ in Sprints and
500m Time Trial placing 9th.


What Do You Do When Not Training To Relax/Favourite Pastime?

Play drums, guitar, sax at church. Like walking my puppies and playing other sports to relax - soccer, cycling and tennis.
